Long time no see love bugs 💕
It’s been a minute since my last beauty review, but I’m back with the jump off (*Lil Kim voice*). Just kidding, I’m back with a new beauty brand to review for you: Glossed Up by Nia Michele.
This is a new and upcoming beauty brand, specializing in handmade, cruelty free lip gloss. They currently have twelve available shades, six of which I purchased to review. I ordered 3 glitter shades and 3 solid shades. I have them listed below along with their price points:
Glitter Shades $10
- Unicorn Sky (Purple Glitter)
- In My Bag (Pink Glitter)
- Icey (Silver Glitter)
Solid Shades $12
- Pink Champagne (Light Pink)
- Royalty (Purple)
- Bossy (Nude)
I must say that I was very impressed with the overall packaging product. It arrived in a silver iridescent bubble mailer, which fit the bubbly feminine branding direction. The pack of glosses were all together beautifully placed in a pink, drawstring gift bag. Each lip gloss shade had been beautifully packaged in cylindrical tubes, sporting the brand’s logo.
The Product (Pros & Cons)
I love that there is a wide range of shades that could work for pretty much anyone. Variety and inclusion is important in any brand. Another plus is that each shade is scented and cruelty free. The price is pretty reasonable for each shade, depending on whichever shades you order.
One opportunity the brand has is the pigmentation of the shades. I swatched each one on my arm and some of them looked exactly alike and they were all pretty sheer on the lip. I definitely think they should create shades that have more of a pigment range from sheer to full coverage. Secondly, I continuously had to dip into the container to pull out enough product to place on my lips. I do think a little bit of product should go a longer way.
In consideration that this is a fairly new brand, I really do like the glosses that I ordered. They are worth the purchase for everyday lip wear. You can also wear the gloss over any lip color. I can’t wait to see what shades they come out with next.
